SUPER by Dr Nicholas Perricone

Super Skincare by Dr Nicholas Perricone
All Super products are free of: parabens, propylene glycol, mineral oil, phthalates, sulfates, synthetic dyes, fragrances and where possible silicones. Products are packaged in slightly frosted glass bottles with a screw top lids. Appropriate pumps/spray attachments are included. Everything is boxed in green (as in eco) boxes. The products are probably not that travel friendly (I'll most likely decant what I need into Muji travel bottles if I have to travel) but for home use the products look clean and stay clean. BIG fan of the packaging!

Super Apple Quercetin
These 3 products are what originally attracted me to the brand! The apple range is for oily yet sensitive skin (that's me!) and is designed to keep skin balanced and clear. I do notice that the cheek & under eye area does look more even and clear since I started using this line. I also happen to love the very soft apple scent.
I like the Free Clean Cleanser a lot. I do occasionally require the use of a separate eye make-up remover when I wear a ton of mascara but otherwise it keeps my skin clean without making it feel tight! The Clarifying Activator is a liquid product a bit like a toner, that exfoliates skin and primes it for moisturizer. The Free Zone Moisturizer I use mostly during the day. It's great under make-up as it sinks into skin well and helps keep oily skin shine free for most (not all) of the day!

Super Coconut Quench & Coconut Lipbalm
I love my facial spritzes.. I go through about one a month! As usual I keep mine the fridge. This one is great for giving skin a hit of moisture and refreshing make-up. I also spritz it all over my hair as suggested as I adore the natral coconut water scent.. It's quite light and I really like the smell of it! The lip balm is pretty decent but not as good as Jack Black or Lanolips.. however the coconut scent makes me reach for it often!

Super O-Mega Moisture
Even though it's a day cream I got this for night time use. I don't use it every night as I don't want my skin to get lazy. I really like the light texture of the cream, it sinks into skin very quickly without leaving a residue. When I wake up in the morning my skin feels super soft and doesn't look too shiny which makes me feel like even though it is for dry skin it is also appropriate for my combination (currently on the oily side) skin.

Super Sun Kissed Turmeric Tinted Moisturiser SPF 25
This is not tinted with a foundation but with a soft, illuminating bronze type color. (Like a softer, more liquid version of Estee Lauder Day Wear Plus.) It's sheer and doesn't give coverage but it does improve the general appearance of skin. There is a very subtle shimmer to the healthy bronze color which makes skin look healthy and radiant. I like using it under my powder foundation that I am currently using as it works well as base.
As a moisturising product I very much like it. I don't use it every single day but when I do and I wash my face at the end of the day.. my skin always feels great. I think it makes a great pollution barrier!

I have been using the products around 2 weeks now (the photos were taken when the things were brand new) and I love the brand. The products are exceptional and at around £25-30 each they aren't too expensive. Yes a lot of products like the Coconut spritz are not necessary but I enjoy using them and if you have the budget for them, they are nice to have! I would re-purchase all the products I have tried and I would try more! I would say in terms of effectiveness & suitability for my skin, this line is on par with Kora Organics and Apivita.. both of which I hold in high regard despite being somewhat harder to source!

I am still really liking Kiehl's Abyssine eye cream but the face cream did nothing much for me. For the £40 price tag, 'good' is just not good enough! If I am going to pay over drugstore price for an item, I expect it to do more than just keep my skin hydrated.. which is why I decided to look for better and try the Super brand. I do feel like I see a noticeable difference in the feel, texture & brightness of my skin using these products. I will of course keep you updated!

  3. I'm liking this range a lot- the packaging looks pretty and judging by your reviews, the products must be pretty effective and deliver what they say in the box. I don't have the budget for all of these but I wouldn't mind paying some extra cash for a good moisturiser! It's an "investment" that is actually worth it!

  4. Tali it has nothing to do with this post but I bought Dior Amber Diamond due to your reviews, and, it is amazing! thanks :) but I think my brushes don't capture all of its luminosity, as they deliver the color a bit dull. I would like to know which brush you use and recommend to apply it. x.

    1. I am so happy you like it! It is the best!

Sometimes I use my fingers to apply it. I am a big fan of applying make-up with fingers and you get so much more control that way! Dab it on with one finger and blend it in with another. I also quite like using an eyeshadow brush as they are firm and precise and don't dull it out as much as bigger brushes! x

  9. I love Origins Youthopia - it is the first cream I feel has made a difference, feels very comfortable on my skin and gives my skin a healthy glow. Love the eyecream too. Looked at Perricone in the past as heard really positive reviews but I'm vegetarian and one of the main ingredients across the line is fish oil so not for me.

    1. I love Origins products. I don't really think I have come across one I didn't like! However, there is something about the brand that makes me disloyal. Maybe I'm a sucker for pretty packaging and keep looking elsewhere?!

  13. I love love love the Super by Perricone brand and I use the coconut moisturiser daily & retinol serum every 2 days in the evenings, but I have a few things to say...

It takes 6-8 weeks to really determine if skincare works and what the results are. If you've only been using it for 2 weeks then I'm a little hesitant to - please don't hate me - believe you. I wish you'd waited another 5 weeks or so to post your review as it would have had more weight.

Also were you provided for the products to review, or did you buy them? It wasn't clear in your post.

    1. I appreciate your comment. You are entitled to your opinion but if you are familiar with my blog you will see that this is the way I chose to operate. I update people on my skincare as I keep using it and I have even stated that I intend to do that here.

Immediate results are just as important as long term ones as often people are looking for quick fixes. It takes 6-8 weeks to notice a reduction in fine lines, elasticity etc.. but clarity and texture issues can be noticed sooner. Allergies/incompatibilities can be noticed almost immediately in some cases.

I noticed a difference VERY quickly with these products. I think I am entitled to say that.

As for the products.. no they weren't sent to me. Read my disclaimer. If the items were sent to me, it is mentioned in the post. So if there is not mention of things 'being sent' it means I purchased the products myself with my own money.

I don't think you realize what a difficult position I am in. If I say I bought the products myself I get accused of showing off. If I say nothing, I am not being clear which is a polite way of calling me a liar. I literally can not win.

    2. Sorry if my response came across quite harsh. I just deal with so much hate on a daily basis (hence the pre-approve comment thing) I get really defensive.

Do you think the coconut serum is worth getting? I want to get a serum product but I don't really know if its a needed step in my skincare routene!

    1. Hi Jen,
Im sorry but I am the wrong person to ask. I never had bad skin or acne so I feel like it would be wrong of me to advise you. I can only speak from my personal experiences with my type of skin (sensitive/combination.)

I still use the brand but I now use a different range in it (it's mentioned in the latest super post) and it still works well for me.
