Watch Me Simmer, Naughty Saute & Runaway Red
I absolutely adore the Pepto-Bismol shade of Naughty Saute. It's like a warmer, more wearable version of MAC's Saint Germain. Watch Me Simmer is a great, summery hot coral. There was no tester for Runaway Red in the shop, so I bought it blind. It's nowhere near as vibrant as I was led to believe by other blogger's swatches.. huge disappointment!
Eyeshadow Quad 'Call Me Bubbles'
A lovely selection of pink/peach/bronze summery shades.. perfect for summer! Normally MAC eyeshadow palettes lack the quality and pigmentation of their single shadows. However I was pleasantly surprised by the textures and pigmentation of this palette. I do however think the lighter colors may be a bit chalky looking on more tanned skin.. so if you are darker than medium/olive I suggest trying before buying!
I picked up all 4 Tendertones. Those of you who have been long-time readers of my blog know just how much I love these limited edition balms! They are incredibly sheer but I just adore the way they feel on lips. If you are looking for color.. skip these! The colors released with this collection are just.. bleughh!

This collection is currently available at Selfridges London and will be released to all other UK MAC counters in 2 weeks. For me the stand out products are Naughty Saute & Watch Me Simmer lipsticks. Don't be fooled by the bright cardboard packaging.. it's a nice collection but nothing special! It's just the usual, token lipstick shades (pink, red, fuschia, nude and coral..) with a few dupable extras.
Any thoughts? What will you be picking up from this collection?
I really want Innocence, beware! and Watch me Simmer lipsticks. I've never tried tendertones so I might get one. That's all. I'm a sucker for colorful packaging but after all it's product that matters.
ReplyDeleteRunway red looks perfect for me. I dont like lips too bright as I just feel like my lips lead the way and everyone stares at them :/ and my mouth/teeth. I will be picking up a tendertone or two. Colours are pretty but I wish they had a few more in this range. They are very soft! Great haul! xx

They are good friends for some years.. I remember a few years back she left one of his stores with 13 bags or something. I doubt in her life she has ever had to pay for his shoes! LUCKY COW!! LOL i love her, her legs and her shoes!
DeleteI picked up that quad and just blogged about it today too! I wasn't feeling the lipsticks as I don't wear bright lip colors, but I did like the tendertones...I wish they had released more shades.

ReplyDeleteNever tried any tendertones before but I do love the MAC lip conditioners in the little jar/tubs....are they similar in consistency and stuff?? xo
These are more of a solid gloss type product. How do I explain this... its like they feel like a gloss when you get your fingers in them. The conditioners are more creamy and more like a soft lipstick in a pot.. there are a bit more sticky to the touch!

ReplyDeleteI think I'll probably buy the Runaway Red l/s and maybe the Naughty Saute (not too much into blue-toned pinks, but it may grow on me in the summer). Was thinking of picking up all Tendertones too after hearing SO much about them for years! but after seeing swatches, I might just buy 2 or 3. I do really like the shades in your quad but I'm thinking of picking up the purple quad instead...I have 2 weeks to decide lol

ReplyDeleteNaughty Saute looks like a cross between Saint Germain and Pink Nouveau, albeit glossier that those two! Ah, the Tendertones! Why doesn't Mac make these permanent? I'm quite happy with the Korres and Apivita lip balms ATM, though I'm bound to get the famous Kiehl's #1 balm! Lovely summery purchases, hun! xx
ReplyDeleteVery bright and colourful collection!!! I'll admit, it's very eye catching (the palette looks gorgeous), but nth's screams to me, short of a fluidline, though not 100% sold on that either! I dunno, I'm more excited about adding color to my outfits this spring, while keeping the makeup fairly simple. Speaking of which, have u picked your colour palette for spring missy? xxx

DeleteWell, mostly neutrals and taupes on the eyes, but I'll be using yellow instead of gold! As for cheeks, I'm ready to experiment with some bolder purples and oranges. Lips are strictly nude for me this spring! xxx

The tendertones look great in the package but don't have the colour payoff for the price you pay for them. Nice touch with the heart swatches.
ReplyDeleteEverything here is gorgeous! The lipsticks were stand outs to me; Watch Me Simmer and Runaway Red made it home with me. I agree that Runaway Red was more sheer that I thought it was going to be. I even had someone comment on my post about it, surprised by how sheer it looked it my swatch. I wonder if it's a bit different than the original one released last fall? Still, I do enjoy the color. :)
