This Holiday 2011, Laura Mercier Illuminator with it's gorgeous rose design was too beautiful to pass up. The second I saw it I just had to have it!!Rose Rendezvous
(Flash slightly lightens the product but not by much!)
It is so smooth to the touch it's almost creamy! Very richly pigmented, one swipe and you get a thick wash of product. This is the way a highlighter should be.. it's not some glorified shimmer powder. The color is a warm, rose colored gold. When spread out it's a fraction lighter than what you see in the pan but it does look darker and warmer than Amber Diamond on skin.
One swipeSo ladies, if you are a fan of Dior's Amber Diamond and would like a slightly warmer colored version of it.. check this out!! On twitter, probably the most common mentions I get are, 'I blame @TheGlossGoss for buying this...' In this case feel free to blame away.. I take full responsibility!!

ReplyDeleteI think my current favourite is still Amber Diamond but I also like Rose Diamond. I do use my MAC lightscapade a lot also as it's a bit more muted and great for day time.
This looks so pretty in your pictures! I wasn't so keen when I saw the promos but after seeing your photos I may have to check this out.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite highlighter is the Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel liquid - I like it even more than my Dior Amber Diamond <3
Oh and yes, you're definitely to blame for many of my purchases! I need to go shopping with you - see what else you can inspire me to buy! xxx

Nazia- For some reason in normal lighting it looks so much darker and greyer but it comes alive on skin!!

Today I have decided to buy from Sephora Dior Diamond Ember follow just on your advice! I was very excited to try it!. Unfortunately I got home and I opened it and saw that instead of being the one that I chose the clerk gave me the Rose Diamond is the pink version of the illuminant 001 ... I was really puzzled and disappointed, I choose very carefully what I bought so it's more problematic having the wrong product just for a human mistake. I don't even know if it will go well with my yellow undertone it seams more as a blush than illuminating I don't know how to use this!! I'm shocked that that could be happen on Sephora!

ReplyDeleteI usually go for powder highlighters but recently just purchased the cream RMS Beauty Living Luminizer and love it! I have no idea how but it looks so natural, fake looking glittery shimmer, just a beautiful sheen.

That looks sooo gorgeous, id be too scared to use it!! I wish I could use these powder highlighters, I don't know why but they always emphasise my pores and somehow look really frosty - even Amber Diamond which I bought for my friend! Sigh...

I've never tried gel highlighter before so I can't really tell if I like them.
I use powder highlighters more often than cream though.
I always go for powders, hate gel and cream products. My skin is so oily I just cant get them to sit right on my skin! xxx

ReplyDeleteI just bought this today! I've read so many lovely reviews I just had to scoop one up...I understand one can also use this on on the eyes too! I wanted to ask though, how are you apply, specifically which brush do you use?

Lisa- I use it with my fingers (I use everything with my fingers normally) or any small brush. For example I like to use the MAC 217 blending brush even though its an eye brush its great for adding shimmer EXACTLY where you want it!
