Chanel- Extrait de Gloss

Showing some Chanel love..
Chanel Rouge Allure
Extrait De Gloss
This is all my friend Carrie-Anne's fault! She used on of these in my presence last week and I had a total 'I can not live without this lipgloss' moment and had to go investigate at the Chanel counter. Verdict?.. these new glosses are AMAZING!!
I originally only got 56 (a mid pink) but after 2 days use I'm not ashamed to say I went completely wild and nearly got them all. To be fair I had used up all my Dior glosses and most of my Burberry one too. (I need to lie to myself so shhh!) I really, really like them!!
Lovely coverage on lips.. not opaque but more richly pigmented than your usual lipgloss. The swatches are all just one swipe! The two pinks I have (56 & 57) are the sheerest color pay off out of them all I think.. but only by a fraction.
Slight shimmer to a few of them but nothing noticeable. They give your lips a seriously juicy, shiny finish without being over the top. I feel like they make my lips look plumper than they actually are. I also love how these feel on the lips.. not sticky but there is just enough tack to them to make them have longer lasting powder than your average gloss. SO lovely!!
Doe foot applicator with a curve that hugs lips and deposits the color quite evenly. I love the amount of color that the applicator picks up. You don't have to dig around for product!

Chanel Mat Lumiere Foundation
& Poudre Universelle Compact
During the day I only wear my Kora tinted moisturiser or my Korres foundation.. but when its evening or I have to make an effort I am currently obsessed with Chanel Mat Lumiere foundation! Since summer and my girls holiday I have been loving the coverage and shine control of this foundation. The finish is so natural and I feel like it really works with my skin tone and type.
I went through a whole bottle of the 60 shade and now I am the 20 shade! Can not believe how pale I am right now!! BIG fan of Vitalumiere as well.. I'm lucky as the limited Chanel shades all seem to match me. Sheer coverage (if you use your fingers to apply) that can be layered if needed.. brilliant!! The Chanel powders are also great to set make-up. I love both loose and pressed versions. I am a big powder fan and these are possibly the best I have tried.

Have you tried the Extrait de Gloss? Do you like Chanel make-up? What is your favourite brand of lipgloss right now?

  1. Chanel is hit and miss for me. Their foundations are fantastic. The lipsticks look fab but I hate the smell :( Bronze Universel is great, Blanc de Chanel as well (but I'm allergic to it). I still need to try the glosses :)

  2. I got testers of the lipglosses when I bought an eyeshadow compact and I used one of them for the first time today and I loved it, I'm so tempted to go out and buy them too! I adore Chanel make-up, definitely worth the hefty price tags :)

  4. Ciao Tali! Damn you, I've been telling myself that I really don't need any more glosses and desperately trying to resist 56 & 57 and there you go with this *horrible* (for my wallet!) post! Do I love Chanel? Do I breathe? Ah! Loving my Helena Rubinstein gloss at the mo (will do a post soon) and also some double-ended Benefit glosses that always seem to find their way inside my bag! Were you well enough to get dressed for Halloween? Great news about your new flat! Baci!!

  12. I knew reading this post would be dangerous!! I want them all now! Will treat myself to one when I've finished my uni assignments, it will be a good incentive!

I have Pro-lumiere which I love for special occasions. Also a big fan of many of their lipsticks (too many in fact, I have something of a Chanel addiction I think)!

  13. Such beautiful glosses - I'll be going through duty free soon, and I'm putting 51 and 52 on my wishlist!

I love my Chanel blush and glossimers, but I've yet to try their foundation. Once my skin clears up - I really want to try the Vitalumiere.

I'm currently loving my MAC lipglasses...Ola Mango and Liqueur.

  15. The lipglosses look yummy! And I've been meaning to try the mat lumiere but still haven't invested in one. My favorite lipglosses lately are the ones in the Kryolan lipshine circle I bought. In fact the colors are pretty similar to the Chanel shades you got and there is also an amazing and very pigmented gold shade. As for Chanel make up, I hate their eyeshadows. They are not at all pigmented, at least the ones I've tried!

  20. Hi Tali;)

Those gloss look awesome! really pretty! My favourites are 51 and 60.
I do like very much Chanel Make-up, still using eventually Mat Lumiere foundation (my mums favourite) and Clinique anti-blemish solutions. At the moment i´m very happy with my new "Mega Shine Lip Gloss" by NYX in Sponge Cake, really like the colour!
BTW, did the Camomile ointment helped your hands?

I just got a L'oreal Glam Shine, and I'm loving it, I dont usually go for anything with shimmer (well, its more like sparkles in this gloss). Im trying to use up my many juicy tubes and illamasqua glosses, but cant help buying more!

  26. Lovely post Tali. Chanel make up tends to be a bit hit or miss in my eyes (i prefer to stick to the handbags most of the time). However those lip glosses look gorgeous, I think ill have to pick a couple of them up. Not that red one though, it looks a little like blood lol! xxx

  27. 51 looks similar to Stila's "Kitten," a kind of gentle, sparkly nude brown. It looks gorgeous. Sigh. I wish it all weren't so damn expensive. (T-T) Another big love of mine, right now, are the Cartier Love Bracelets. My gosh, I just want to cry over how I will never be able to afford one.

  28. I don't have any of the Chanel glosses but I'm tempted to go buy them now. I don't like glosses that are sticky and you have to apply a lot and it looks caked on so these sound like I'd use them.

I'm currently addicted to Smashbox glosses:

Smitten (a caffe late and pink tone)

    and;

    Lust (a glitter berry tone)

They are a bit stickier than I'd like but the lip coverage glides on - so check them out if you think you'd like them. I bought them from QVC in a special Smashbox box that has a foundation powder, eye shadows, eye liner, lip glosses etc I think it was £50 and its called the Smashbox Get Sexy Tools of Seduction Kit. What I liked about the presentation that they did that I ended up buy it is they have 4 looks on the back of the box called "Sex Kitten" "Born To Be Wild", "Girl Next Door" and "Vixen" based on all the products in the kit and you can't do better than that, if you have the know how in front of you.

p.s the lipglosses smell nice too!

  29. Those glosses look great, I 'd love to get no. 51! But, then again... I have a lot of lipgloss just sitting there already... hmmm...!

To be honest, I haven't tried that much of Chanel makeup, but I 'm very happy with what I 've got! I will say however, that the darker their shades (in nail polish and eyeshadows), the better the pigmentation - it's the lighter shades that can be a bit of a miss sometimes!

As for fav lipgloss atm: Jemma Kidd!

  32. Hey Tali!

I'm also a big fan of the Mat Lumiere. I've been wondering if you tried the new Chanel Aqua Vitalumiere?

Its supposed to be amazing, like secons skin, bearly there, but still gives you a flawless look.

I've read a lot of reviews but I still trust yours the most, so I would love to hear you oppinion :)

    Hugs and kisses :*

  33. I tried on a few of the Extrait de Gloss and unfortunately for my wallet it looks like I've fallen in love! It has the perfect amount of pigmentation (I have pigmented asian lips so a lot of glosses don't show up on me).

    Lemming no. 59

Loving YSL pure gloss in #8Plum at the moment, and any NARS or Hourglass gloss!
