A few of you emailed me requesting I do more looks for the blog with instructions on what I used and how. As my YouTube tutorials didn't really work I will give it a go on the blog instead.
Face Of The Day
Today I have gone for a natural face & lip with a stronger eye. I feel that a stronger eye means you can wear the same make-up from morning to night. There are days where I can not be bothered to change my make-up for evenings. I used 3 products from the MAC Venomous Villains collection.. I am surprised by just how much I am liking & using what I had dismissed as a 'unnecessary collection!'
Eyes
Mac De-Vil shadow very lightly pressed on lid and run under lower lash line.
Lots and lots of MAC smoulder eyeliner topped with MAC carbon eyeshadow. MAC Penultimate liner for the cats eye. I left my eyebrows natural but in retrospect as they are a lighter brown than my hair I should have filled them in a little!
Face
Korres Ginger & Vitamins foundation (shade 4) applied over Kora Organics Soothing moisturiser. MAC Venomous Villains 'Her Own Devices' beauty powder all over cheeks & temples.
A tiny bit of The Make-up Store 'Sugarpink' blush on apples of cheeks. I then used a clean kabuki brush to blend it all in. No powder needed on top but if you have oily skin you could use one.
Lips
YSL Rouge Couture lipstick in no.6. Its one of their new lipsticks and it looks much better on lips than swatched on the back of your hand or than in the tube!
YSL Rouge Couture no.6
I do very much like the new YSL Rouge Couture lipstick. I do prefer them to my beloved Rouge Volupte's! So so smooth on the lips but much lighter than the Voluptes. I got three shades (5, 6 & 10) and I am seriously hoping they come up with some more colors.
Number 6 is my favourite out of all of them! Nude but still fleshy enough to be wearable and it feels soooo good on lips. It doesn't last a long time on.. you do need to reapply but that's not really a problem is it?! My mother who loathes nude lips complimented me on this shade.
As for my hair I am still going to Riley @ The Lounge Soho in London. He really is the best hairdresser I ever had and I know a few of you have tried him out and loved him! This time I went for a brunette color. Its actually pretty similar to my natural hair color!
Considering i dye my hair pretty much on a monthly basis it is in pretty good condition. I do credit a lot of this to Riley using tints over bleach as much as possible and the products he uses on my hair after a coloring session. I also credit my hairs condition to the Kiehl's Creme with Silk Groom that I have been using since forever!

ReplyDeleteYour hair looks amazing. I'm living in a constant stae of bad har at the moment, it's annoying me so much. The condition has been terrible since my last trip to the salon, don't know if they did something different when they coloured it. I might have to try the silk groom as you seem to swear by it so much!

Thought of you the other day when I saw that Lush's Snow Fairy is back in store. They've released a sheer pink lip tint this year with the same candy fragrance as the shower gel!

ReplyDelete& Definitely a fan of the YSL lipstick :) I picked up a new gloss from their collection in duty free and I love it, even though it's more of a summer colour - I'm rebelling against the colder weather!

I really enjoy these kinds of posts as well. There has been quite the hype about these YSL Rouge Coutures and I'm very interested especially b/c they look less drying than the Voluptes!
